Hammarsdale is a town situated in the eThekwini municipality, some on the N3 Freight Corridor between Pieterrmaritzburg and Durban. Cato Ridge, where the future 850ha Dry Port logistics, industry and business development will be located, is a mere 7km from Hammarsdale. Hammarsdale is home to the brand new Keystone Logistics Park, Point Park, Hammarsdale Industrial Park and many freestanding warehouses and factories.

eThekwini has pegged Hammarsdale/Cato-Ridge as one of the three catalytic development Node's for KZN, along with the south and north coast. This classification has provided Hammarsdale with significant infrastructure investment from the eThekwini, SOE's and other government entities into roads, waste water, power, public transport etc, all of which have a direct benefit to Hammarsdale.
